Start GP Austin was delayed about 30 minutes after it was revealed there was a puddle of water after the third corner. Once the water is no longer ensured and a dry track, the race finally started.

Austin- Marc Marquez tampil dominan di MotoGP Austin. Meski sempat turun ke posisi kedua di beberapa lap awal,riderHonda itu menjadi yang pertama menyentuh garis finis mengalahkan Andrea Dovizioso dan Valentino Rossi.
Di Circuit of The Americas, Senin (13/4/2015) dinihari WIB, Marquez yang memulai balapan dari urutan terdepan sempat kehilangan posisinya akibat disusul Dovizioso. Tapi itu tak bertahan lama karena pada lap keempat Marquez sudah kembali berada di depan.
Setelah merebut status pemimpin balapan Marquez tak terkejar lagi oleh lawan-lawannya. Dovizioso yang sempat mencoba memberi perlawanan akhirnya finis di posisi kedua, usai mengalahkan Valentino Rossi yang merebut podium terakhir.
Kemenangan di Austin ini menjadi jawaban Marquez atas hasil buruk yang dia dapat bulan lalu. Di MotoGP Qatar sang juara dunia terlempar ke posisi paling belakang setelah lap pertama dan akhirnya cuma bisa finis kelima.
Hasil ini membuat Marquez mencatatkan 100% kemenangan di Austin, setelah dia juga merebut posisi teratas di musim 2013 dan 2014. Sebagai catatan, tiga kemenangan Marquez di Austin didapat setelah dia merebutpole position.
Jorge Lorenzo menempati posisi empat dalam balapan ini. Sementara urutan lima jadi milik Andrea Iannone Tambahan 25 poin membuat Marquez kini duduk di posisi tiga klasemen sementara dengan poin dikumpulkan berjumlah 36. Klasemen MotoGP 2015pada race kedua di Grand Prix Austin, masih menempatkan Valentino Rossi di puncak. Namun senyum The Doctor tidak akan lebar karena Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) menempel dengan perbedaan satu angka saja. Rosi memperoleh 41, sementara Dovi 40 angka.
